Here are some customary screenshots. These are out-dated from 0.8.x, but the interface is mostly the same.
First, a view of the standard interface:
In this view, you can see multiple tags (Slashdot and reddit with a plugin enabled). The blue items are unread, the yellow items are read, and the bright blue bar is the cursor.
In addition, canto-curses has a detailed reader, that allows you access to the content, images, or multimedia included in each item.
Lastly, an image of the main interface with all tags collapsed (use C / V to collapse / uncollapse all visible tags, and c to collapse or uncollapse a single tag).
